Posted 21st January 2008 by Alan Considine from St.Helens Very good. We had the delicious cheese saugauges (how bad does that sound!), and oxtail starters. Followed by the veal, and an exceptional game pie. Pleasant bottle of wine, and overall a lovely warm feeling. The lady of the restauraunt was a charmer, well worth a visit.

Posted 25th May 2007 by Steve from Knutsford I can't praise it enough, it's reassuringly expensive (that's just humour....it's not much more than any other Knutsford restaurant) but the service and the ambiance make it so much more "special". I have a preference for upstairs in the summer and downstairs in the winter. I've never been disappointed.

Posted 15th May 2006 by James Blair from Knutsford My job takes me all over the country & Europe, but i'm lucky when I'm home this place provides me with amazing food, an atmosphere that can't be bettered & service that's right on the button. When I mention it to people I'm told it's so expensive, rubbish same price as fake chain Italians (Piccs ! ) that can just about get a very average pizza to you in 45 mins! Why have a Ford when you can have a Merc for the same price!

Posted 6th June 2005 by darren bull from warrington The food was fantastic! the service was really good but could of done with a bit more of it ie. had to get someones attention to get more drinks instead of being asked, but this did not have any impact on our evening- it was truely one of my best eating out experiences i have ever had from the moment we entered the establishment till the moment we left!(apart from the bill that is!LOL but the saying, you get what you pay for comes to mind) We both look forward to returning.

Posted 13th April 2005 by Jen Hackett from Knutsford We had a fantastic meal for 2 here on Saturday 19th March. We are already big fans of the restaurant, having had our wedding here 2 years ago which was a wonderful, intimate day - a superb meal, summer garden party upstairs in the evening, then great bedrooms and a huge fry-up with all our family the next morning. The meal we had on 19th March was the best we've had here yet - fantastic food (particularly the crab and the rabbit) and excellent service, despite the restaurant being fully booked. We've always been able to linger over a romantic meal at the Belle Epoque and love the fact in the days of chain-eateries this place still feels like a real restaurant, run by real people and with really outstanding food. Highly recommended, especially for romantic evenings.

Posted 14th March 2005 by Gordon from Wilmslow I came here for the first time on my Birthday last week and what a friendly bunch of people. The food was great with great variety like Frogs legs (which guess what? taste like chicken) and delicious mains like Rabbit stuffed with Chorizo sausage. Great service and lovely atmosphere. Really liked the decor and didn't feel rushed at all. Thumbs up to Belle Epoque. By the way the guy below who says it's like a Blackpool B&B, I think you should stick to Mcdonalds because you obviously don't have a clue.

Posted 16th February 2005 by David Pugh from Bostock Green Well, where do you start? This place is unique! No super slick corparate dingbats, with their bought in, non tasting food & trendy adverts to bring you over the threshhold, then nothing! Belle Epoque, so I'm told has being owned by the same people for 30 odd years, think do you know any where else that can say that? The food: no fads or fashion here, good products well cooked & served! so many try so many fail, this place is wonderful, we should cherish it! Lap up the atmos, it ouses from every picture curtain, picture & cranny. The very best of Parsian 'joie de vivre without the expense, & attitude.
ps The man who can write all that about Not having a meal?
wow! love to go for dinner with him!!

Posted 12th February 2005 by Andy Morris from Shavington We visited on a Friday night, and from being greeted at the front door to when we left some 3 hours later, we completely enjoyed the experience. The service was attentive and prompt without being pushy and rushed. The food was excellent and presented beautifully and the atmosphere was great! A live singer and the background chatter gave the restaurant a relaxed feel. Excellent!!

Posted 9th February 2005 by Julia from Wilmslow If Mark from Middlewich finds Belle Epoque a bit bizzare - i find his remarks inexpedient. I doubt he has ever visited this beautiful Art Nouve building, with it's dramatic interior, wonderful fresh food and friendly service. As i have never visited a Blackpool B&B i can't comment, everyone to their own.

Posted 20th January 2005 by Mark from Middlewich To be honest - I found Belle Epoque a bit bizarre. Possibly may have had my expectations set too high, but on the whole, the experience was v average. Good wine selection, but food really wasn't anything special, disappointing actually, decor a bit Blackpool B&B. Not on my list of places to go back to. Sorry!

Posted 4th November 2004 by Rowan McDermott from Holmes Chapel It was my wedding anniversary in October and we were undecided of where to go.
I had been to a corperate event at The Belle Epoque in August and it had stuck in my mind as it was an outstanding restaurant, so thats where we went.
We sat in the Tower and had the most exceptional meal. The service was incomparable. I had the most spectacular night I have had in a long time and I will definately recomend it to everyone!
Thank you
Rowan

Posted 1st November 2004 by jack from london/manchester When im in the north I try to go to this once! Amazing place to eat drink and just to sit all evening and be amazed. But I thinck now running on an old reputation. On my last visit I was sadly disappointed. The food was not up to much the service was friendly! They have a great name a stunning restaurant but there’s just something missing which is a great shame.

Posted 6th February 2004 by Sarah Kavanagh from Northwich I got married at The Belle Epoque in November 2003. I could not have wished for a better location. The staff were fantastic, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was magical. It was like being in a fairy tale. The hotel rooms were nicely done and we were all treated like royalty.
I can't say enough about the place. My husband and I will hold The Belle Epoque in our hearts forever.
